Recent Advances accepts the following types of articles: Original research articles, Special Issue articles, Research topics articles, Review Articles and short communications.
Recent Advances only publishes paper in English.
Ensure that you have addressed issues related to research and publication ethics, copyright, authorship We are bound by the ethical rules set by the Committee of Publications Ethics (COPE). COPE provides ethical guidelines and codes of conduct for publishers, journal editors, and reviewers. Please read and adhere to our Guidance on Publishing Ethics.

Prepare your article
Prepare your manuscript in Microsoft Word or save as that format from another application. Microsoft Word template to prepare your manuscript. The total amount of data for all files must not exceed 150 MB. If this is a problem, please contact the Editorial Office editorial@recentadvancesin.com.
Recent Advances accepts free format submission. While we do not impose strict formatting requirements, it is recommended that manuscripts include the following sections: Title, Author names and affiliations, Corresponding author, Highlights (a short collection of bullet points that capture the novel results of your research), Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Material and Methods, Theory/calculation, Results, discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, References (authors’ names and the year of publication) arranged alphabetically, Figures and Tables with Captions, Funding Information, Author Contributions (using the relevant CRediT roles https://credit.niso.org/, Conflict of Interest, and other Ethics Statements. All material should be double-spaced, using 2 cm margins on all four sides of the page. Do not format the text in columns. Number the pages and include line numbering (use CONTINUOUS numbering – do not restart numbering on each page).
Subdivision – numbered sections
Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, …), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering). Use this numbering also for internal cross-referencing: do not just refer to ‘the text’. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line. Please refer to the Instructions for Authors for additional details.
- Units: Please use Standard International Units in all manuscripts.
- Third-Party Material. You must obtain the necessary permission to reuse third-party material in your paper.
- For any questions regarding style, Recent Advances recommends authors to consult the Chicago Manual of Style.
- Ensure that any manuscript you submit conforms to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We recommend that authors comply with the Convention on Biological Diversityand the Convention on the Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. We encourage authors to follow the ‘Sex and Gender Equity in Research – SAGER – guidelines’ , research ethics, copyright, authorship, figure formats, data and references format have been appropriately considered. The authors are ultimately responsible and accountable for the contents of the work.
- Changes in Authorship:Authorship changes after submission are considered only under exceptional circumstances. All co-authors should be included in the manuscript upon initial submission.
- Research Integrity and Reuse of Text: Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. The journal opposes fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism, employing software to screen for textual overlap.
Submit your article
- Please go to Submit your article web page to begin your submission for this journal. The submitting author, who is generally the corresponding author, is responsible for the manuscript during the submission and peer-review process. Ensure that all authors have approved the content of the submitted manuscript and confirm that they read the Instructions for Authors.
- Please note that Recent Advances uses Crossref™ to screen papers for unoriginal material. By submitting your paper to this journal you are agreeing to originality checks during the peer-review and production processes.
After Submission
- Once you have submitted your paper, it will begin the publishing process. We will contact you at each step of the journey. Editorial Checks. Peer Review Process.
- We maintain a rigorous peer review process for all manuscripts. Upon receipt, the managing editor conducts a technical pre-check to assess the suitability of the manuscript. Subsequently, the academic editor is invited to conduct a pre-editorial check. The Editorial Office coordinates reviews by independent experts, normally obtaining at least two review reports per manuscript.
- Authors are encouraged to make appropriate revisions based on the reviewers’ comments. The final decision is made by the academic editor, who is usually the editor-in-chief or editorial board member of a journal or the guest editor of a special issue. Accepted articles undergo proofreading for style and English.
The final decision is made by the academic editor, with several potential outcomes:
Accept in its current form: The article is accepted without further changes.
Accept after minor revisions: The article is accepted conditionally, pending minor revisions based on the reviewer’s comments.
Reconsideration after major revisions: The manuscript may be accepted after substantial revisions. Authors must respond point by point to reviewers’ comments or refute them if some comments cannot be revised. Normally, a maximum of two rounds of major revisions are allowed.
Reject and encourage resubmission: Articles that require additional experiments to support conclusions will be rejected with an invitation for resubmission once additional experiments have been performed.
Reject: Manuscripts with serious flaws, no original contribution, or other critical issues will be rejected without opportunity for resubmission.
After Acceptance
- On line proof correction: To ensure a fast publication process of the article, we kindly ask authors to provide us with their proof corrections within two days. Corresponding authors will receive an e-mail with a link allowing annotation and correction of proofs online. Significant changes to the article as accepted for publication will only be considered at this stage with permission from the Editor. Proofreading is solely your responsibility.
- Publication: All Recent Advances articles receive a DOI, are citable, published in PDF and HTML format in the Recent Advance web of the selected journal.
- We are committed to preserving our publications indefinitely. All content published in Recent Advances Journals is permanently archived in reputable databases. In addition, we retain copies of submitted manuscripts and supporting files for record keeping, unless otherwise requested by authors.
We respect the rights of our authors. You retain all copyrights to your work, and there is no need to sign any assignment of rights agreement. In addition, you can reuse published material with proper accreditation, thanks to our Creative Commons attribution license.
